Mix #103: "Die Yuppie Scum"

- Slurpee? Radical. Slurpee? Dude!
- Kind of an easy listening mix. After seeing Robert Randolph and The Family Band at the Life Is Good Festival, it's pretty easy to get caught up in the festival mentality. Holy shit, this man is awesome. Check out this tune ('Ain't Nothing Wrong With That') and video below. It's so nice to see a band out there who aren't afraid to show how much they are enjoying what they do. Look up Robert Randolph and The Family Band in the dictionary and that's the definition you will see.

- This Day & Age were a great group, guys left, and remaining members started The Reign Of Kindo.
- In honor of Nirvana's 'Nevermind,' 20th anniversary, let's play a song they didn't write.
- Be good to each other.

- My buddy Kenny sent me his idea of doing a mix with 'Time,' as the theme. I think his selections (minus Coldplay and Kelly Clarkson) are awesome and I hope he continues to make some.

Mix #101: "Dog Years"

- Another great tune by Dylan Mondegreen. He reminds me a lot of Badly Drawn Boy (Damon Gough). I like Dylan a lot and you should too.
- The soundtrack to Pearl Jam's documentary 'Twenty,' is fantastic. If you like their bootleg live albums and 'Lost Dogs,' you'll love it. The longevity of this band is incredible. They are easily in my Top 5 Bands of all time.
- Super excited for Noel Gallagher's new album which will be released on 10/17. 'Step Out,' is one of my favorite b-sides of him and former band Oasis.
- Going to Life Is Good Fest this Sunday, so expect a lot of Robert Randolph and Ray LaMontagne in the near future.
- New mix Monday will be created by one of my best friends' Kenny. He's made mixes before; Mix #4 and joined in on Mix #37. The mix is going to be excellent, so leave some love for him after you've listened to it.
- Have a good weekend. Be good to each other.

Mix #100: "...Still Breathing"

- This mix was rather easy and super fun to make; this mix is combined of songs that I always find myself listening to a few times in a row. Most of them are fairly new tunes or at the very least, I've recently started listening to them again. 9 times out of 10 I can't even tell you why a song hits me the way it does; maybe it's a great lyric, catchy guitar riff, or flashy drum fill...perhaps it's simply the mood I'm in or what I had for lunch. Like I said under 'Expectations:' Good music is good music; despite genre or affiliation. If a song speaks out to you, then it's worth turning others on to it. Rock, Hip-Hop, Folk, Punk, Metal, Ambient, whatever. 'All Music Makes The World Turn...' So stop worrying and simply enjoy.
- I hope you've enjoyed the mixes so far, and I look forward to making more. Feedback is appreciated. And as always, be good to each other
